Rona Akbari is an Afghan social media strategist, writer, and filmmaker based between Brooklyn and Florida. Her work has been featured in BuzzFeed, NPR, National Geographic, Marie Claire, and The Creative Independent. She has acted in, written, and directed films with 5th Floor Pictures and is the co-host of the micro-podcast Just Warm Spaces. Rona has taught and exhibited work at Washington University, Data & Society Research Institute, and School for Poetic Computation, and her writing has been included in several university curriculums. She studied digital media production and documentary filmmaking at Florida State University.
